Just when we finally learned to spell his name, Al Toczydlowski (former chief of the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Insurance Fraud Unit (PDAIFU)) has moved on to different pastures.
Currently a practicing attorney with Reed Smith Shaw & McClay, it was Toczydlowski who formed the PDAIFU, the first Pennsylvania law enforcement unit of its kind, which was dedicated solely to investigating and prosecuting fraud. As chief of that unit for three years, he supervised more than a thousand insurance fraud investigations and approved more than 300 arrests for the crime of insurance fraud.
