Live in Texas? Wanna be a risk manager? An insurance agent? An adjuster? A title company escrow officer? A life insurance counselor? A solicitor? Or a reinsurance intermediary? No problem, but it’s going to cost you a … fingerprint.
In an effort to stop the tide of fraud, the Texas Department of Insurance has decreed that those applying for the various licenses will have to submit to fingerprinting as well as a criminal background check. And should a felony conviction show up, it will be grounds for license denial.
Those already holding the various licenses will not be required to submit to the new requirements unless they apply for an additional license.
