The story reads like so many others throughout the USA: authorities extensively investigated a suspicious situation. It began with an automobile body shop and a progression of similarly damaged vehicles being brought in for repair. The makes and models were suspiciously alike and the damage was always in the same place. When the State teamed up their investigative efforts with those of the Bureau of Auto Body Repair, even more striking inconsistencies were uncovered. The vehicle ownership often involved a convoluted trail of papers, and many of those alleged owners were operating under various fictitious identities. After a great deal of intensive investigation, the pieces of the puzzle began to fall together. What authorities had uncovered was an auto fraud accident ring, one responsible for at least a million dollars worth of bogus claims.
But what does this John Cooke Insurance Fraud Report story have to do with the John Cooke Financial Fraud Report?

The message here is obvious. Numerous law enforcement and investigative professionals are chasing the same people. Simply stated, there are no single line criminals. The crooks – are crooks – are crooks. They defraud the insurance companies, they run drugs, they defraud the credit card companies. They lie, they cheat, they steal. They also compare notes and openly communicate with one another.
How helpful to the various fraud-fighting industries if we did the same. Take an insurance investigator to lunch; invite along a DEA investigator; include a favorite FBI agent. We’re all in this together – just like they are.
