Attention! If your prosecution efforts involved an “expert witness” by the name of Howard Bruce Ollick, you may have a slight problem. Ollick, with a satchel full of credentials (including an advanced degree in organic chemistry) attesting to his ability to serve as a $200-per-hour drug expert, was used by prosecutors in a series of recent Florida trials. When all was said and done, however, authorities discovered that Ollick had falsified all of his credentials. He blamed his behavior on an emotionally abusive childhood and said his mother always claimed he would never amount to anything. But Ollick HAD amounted to something. At the time he was testifying as a highly paid, degree-holding expert, he also held a very important full time job … in a bagel shop. He’s pled guilty to perjury and fraud charges.
